Karina Speicher is the VP of Operations and Finance for Emergent Game Technologies, Inc., a venture-backed technology company providing innovative solutions to the video game industry. At Emergent, she is responsible for working across the organization to successfully drive the strategic, financial and operational planning goals of the company.
Prior to Emergent, Karina was at Technicolor Entertainment Services, where she was Senior Director of Business Development, responsible for strategy and acquisitions. While there, she completed the acquisition of Cinecolor Lab Company, Ltd. (2003), a premiere motion picture film lab and post-production company based in Thailand. She also completed the acquisition of The Moving Picture Company (2004), an industry-leading provider of visual effects and post-production services for the feature motion picture and commercial advertising industries, from British broadcaster ITV for £52.7 million. In 2005, Karina worked on the strategy and business plan for what is now Technicolor Interactive Services, which includes audio, game design and high-end art production services for the video game industry. In 2006, she initiated the investment in Paprikaas Animation Studios (announced 2007) as part of the overall Interactive Services business plan.
Karina has also worked for JP Morgan H&Q in Mergers and Acquisitions and Deloitte & Touche LLP. She earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA, has an MBA from Columbia Business School and is currently taking courses in Computer Science.
She was a board member of Real Option for City Kids in San Francisco in 1997, serving at-risk and high-risk youth by providing extra-curricular athletic activities, and has contributed to various philanthropic organizations including LA Team Mentoring and Union Station Foundation.
