Featured Event: December 6, 2014 – Holiday Party a Hit with Our Kids

Around 20 teenage foster youth from Vista Del Mar in Culver City and New Dawn group home in Walnut came to our office holiday party on December 6th. The kids had a blast as they learned guitar with Mike Madariaga. Eddie Lloreda taught drums and music recording.

They loved decorating wooden cigar boxes with volunteers Michelle Milne, Rachel and Gina. Mind Illusionist Joshua G. was popular. Elayna Rice got wonderful responses from her fun writing game. Megan Hook was a hit with those kids who enjoyed singing. One girl recorded her song and took home a CD. The drum set in our recording booth was also a hit. – Read More

Featured Event: October 12, 2014 – A Night of Great Sax More Than Great!

A Night of Great Sax was a big success! The music, food, drinks and entertainment were amazing! Create Now raised money to provide more of our therapeutic arts programs to the neediest youth. We had a blast, especially the kids from the LA Family Housing shelter in North Hollywood who blew everyone away with their amazing performance of “Someone Like You.” Olivia Counts, Anecysia Robertson and Asia Vasquez sang their hearts out and brought chills to everyone. They were excited about the money they earned for participating, and proud to show off their talents to the family members in attendance.

Tasha Caufield flew in from Florida just to share her story of how Create Now impacted her life. Click here for a short video about Tasha.

Special thanks to Dave Koz and Michael Lington for the phenomenal concert, and to Debra Wilson for providing comedy and passion for our mission as the host. None of this would have been possible without Create Now Board Member Mark Schulman, drummer extraordinaire and organizer of the event. Julian Coryell was the Music Director and guitarist. Chris Golden played bass and Michael Bluestein played keyboards. – Read More
