Lynda
Williams has a diverse background in both administrative and creative
functions, wearing many hats in various industries from automobile
manufacturing to the entertainment industry. She
spent seven years with Riverside County DPSS, Child Protective Services
providing clerical support for every section from intake, court, and
long-term case work to day care and foster care licensing. It
was in this capacity that she developed her understanding of database
management which she brought to us in the form of maintaining our vast
database of mentors, sponsors, and other interested parties during
the first half of 2005.
Creatively, Lynda has been working on the production side of independent filmmaking for the past five years. As executive producer of the indie horror film, THE HALFWAY HOUSE, in 2003, she gained an understanding of the practical and business sides of "show biz" at the most basic level. Her understanding of how to make a small budget look like a million is a valuable asset in the nonprofit world of Create Now!
As a web designer, she's created web sites for companies as diverse as Ford Motor Company's Global Marketing intranet site, BV Entertainment's "Fright Film Factory," and comedian Lou Santini. She brings this expertise to Create Now! in the form of maintaining the web site, which recently received a major overhaul, and putting together our monthly newsletter. If you're a subscriber to our mailing list, you know her work well. After her company laid her off when they went out of business in March of 2008, she started LJ Williams Design and is available full time for consultation and design of web sites throughout the country.
Lynda grew up in Southern California, raising two lovely daughters - a singer actress and a businesswoman - and is the proud grandmother of four-year-old Katie. She lives in Canoga Park with her sister Jodi. She finds the creative community constantly inspiring and is thrilled to be a volunteer and associated with Create Now!
